What Happens After Closing on a New Home with David Weekley Homes?

After closing, it’s time to move in! David Weekley Homes helps create a smooth transition from building your home to you living in it with the help of a Warranty Service Manager committed to following up on the quality of your home’s construction and addressing warranty concerns in a timely manner.

First, your Personal Builder introduces you to the home with a Homebuyer Introduction Meeting. They’ll walk the home with you, point out key features, and help you learn the ins and outs of your new living spaces.

You will also meet with your Warranty Service Manager. They’ll guide you through the warranty process and what is covered by the warranty, and how to fill out a warranty service request.

Once you’ve settled in, your Warranty Service Manager will check in with you to ensure everything is functioning as expected. This helps them get to know you and gives you direct access to them if you have any questions.

Each home built with David Weekley Homes comes with three levels of warranty:

  • Level 1 materials and workmanship.
  • Level 2 major mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.
  • Level 3 major structural elements, such as the foundation and load-bearing frame.

If you need to file a warranty claim, the process is quick and simple. You can start the process on our website or directly through your Warranty Service Representative

How does David Weekley Homes support Homeowners after move-in? It’s about more than just warranties with us. We build processes and relationships that look after you and your home. We provide:

  • Multiple Channels for Communication: We know that communication is not one-size-fits-all. We communicate with you through whatever channels are most convenient for you: phone, email, or our online service portal.
  • 24/7 Access to Support: You don’t have to wait for business hours to reach out to us! Our Warranty Service Request form is open any time of day or night, and we’ll always get back to you within one business day or sooner.
  • Dedicated Customer Care Teams: Every single Homeowner is important to us. You aren’t handed off to some external representative when you have a question; you’re taken care of by a dedicated, in-house Customer Service Team that knows you and your home.
  • Homeowner Education: We believe empowering you with information gives you the best experience in your home. After all, you’re the one who knows the space best. Part of our dedication to a beautiful home involves giving you tips for maintenance and resources for learning more.

We also offer post-build support through our Home Dedication program. If you’d like to dedicate your home through a spiritual blessing, we’ll connect you with a local chaplain to make the event special.
