Central Living by David Weekley Homes Breaks Ground in Southside Place
Dallas, TX (April 21, 2016): Central Living by David Weekley Homes, the high-density division of David Weekley homes that builds luxury homes in prime locations, recently broke ground on Southside Place, a new community that will be located in the South Side on Lamar district.
Mike Rawlings, Mayor of Dallas, spoke about the city’s involvement with the project to revitalize the South Side, and is excited about the growth expected in the area, including the new development of Southside Place.

The city of Dallas and Matthews Southwest (MSW) are revitalizing the South Side on Lamar area to attract economic investment, create jobs and grow entrepreneurship in south Dallas. The area is now home to Gilley’s Dallas, the Jack Evans Police Headquarters, a boutique hotel, luxury loft apartments and an eight-screen Alamo Drafthouse Cinema.

Southside Place will include a total of 41 new single-family homes ranging in size from 1,900-2,600 square feet in size, many with rooftop views. These three-story homes will feature distinct architecture and offer low-maintenance living. Residents will be located in close proximity to new retail and entertainment venues and be within walking distance to a Dallas Area Rapid Transit station.
