In Dallas, more than 33,600 pounds of frozen turkeys and nearly 4,000 pounds of nonperishable items were collected during the two-week drive, which ran from November 1 to 15.
“It is amazing to watch the David Weekley Homes family come together with their generous and selfless donations during the annual Thanksgiving drive,” said Madison Ryffel, sales consultant for David Weekley Homes in Dallas. “I am grateful for the opportunity to give back and give thanks in our local community.”
Locally, the Giving Thanks, Giving Back Thanksgiving Drive benefitted Community Food Bank, a nonprofit organization that changes lives one meal at a time by providing food directly to those in need. "The David Weekley Homes team was a delight at the Thanksgiving giveaway and very hands on,” said Rudy Taylor, operations director for Community Food Bank. “We thank you for the boost of nutrition at the most important time of the year."
The Thanksgiving Drive is an initiative of the company’s CARE program, which joins team members with homeowners, homebuyers, community partners and local nonprofit organizations to live out its purpose of Building Dreams, Enhancing Lives in each of the communities in which it builds.
