David Weekley Homes Donates Thanksgiving Meals as Part of Holiday Food Drive
Denver, CO (December 11, 2018): David Weekley Homes, the nation’s largest privately-held builder, hosted its fourth annual, companywide Giving Thanks, Giving Back Thanksgiving Drive, collecting an aggregate of nearly 184,000 pounds of turkey and nonperishable items in 18 participating markets. The company’s efforts provided nearly 311,500 meals to local families.
In Denver, 60 pounds of turkey and more than 2,100 pounds of nonperishable items were collected during the two-week drive, which ran from November 1 to 15.
“This year we were again able to make a difference in the lives of others through the Thanksgiving Drive,” said Zuzana Balzerova, lead sales consultant for David Weekley Homes in Denver. “We are very fortunate to work for a company that truly believes in enhancing our communities and impacting lives. I am so thankful to be a part of this amazing team!”
Locally, the Giving Thanks, Giving Back Thanksgiving Drive benefitted Parker Task Force/Food Bank, an organization dedicated to helping individuals and families become self-sufficient by providing food and other support services. David Weekley team members provided the collected items to Parker Task Force/Food Bank to distribute to families in time for the holiday.
“I want to say thank you to everyone at David Weekley Homes for providing Thanksgiving meals to the families we serve,” said Steve Budnack, director of Parker Task Force/Food Bank. “I was amazed with the amount of food the company dropped off at the food bank.”
The Thanksgiving Drive is an initiative of the company’s CARE program, which joins team members with homeowners, homebuyers, community partners and local nonprofit organizations to live out its purpose of Building Dreams, Enhancing Lives in each of the communities in which it builds.
