CHARLOTTE, NC (NOVEMBER 12, 2013): David Weekley Homes Team Members and members of the Charlotte community collected the equivalent of over 1,200 turkeys for the benefit of Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina. Weekley Homes also presented the food bank with a surprise matching donation of $10,000, bringing the turkey total to more than 2,000!
David Weekley Homes thanked major corporate contributors, including Ryland Homes, McGee Brothers, Electrolux and more. Weekley Homes also gave special recognition to C & C Catering, Beantown Tavern and Mimosa Grill for their partnership in making this year’s turkey drive a major success.
“We are so grateful to David Weekley Homes, their Team Members in the Charlotte area, and members of the public for such a wonderful donation to Second Harvest this year,” said Kay Carter, Executive Director of Second Harvest. “We were so surprised with the extra donation from David Weekley Homes, because it will enable us to provide even more families with the food to have a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner. Every year this event just gets bigger and bigger, and we are so blessed to be a part of this generous community.”
