David Weekley Homes Hosts Blood Drive for Austin Community
Austin, TX (August 8, 2017): Many Austin-area residents will receive the gift of life, thanks to a blood drive hosted by David Weekley Homes, the nation’s largest privately-held builder. The drive will benefit We Are Blood, a nonprofit blood bank.
The event is from 1 to 3:30 p.m. on Monday, August 14 at Browning Hangar, located at 4550 Mueller Boulevard in Austin. Mueller homeowners, buyers, friends and Austin-area residents are encouraged to give blood and can register here to donate. Everyone who donates blood will be entered for a chance to win an Electra Cruiser 1 bike.
Each blood donation can save up to three adult lives, while a three-teaspoon donation can save a baby’s life. Blood donations to We Are Blood support 39 hospitals in a 10-county service area in Central Texas.
The drive is an initiative of the company’s CARE program, which is a charitable and volunteer program that partners team members, homeowners, homebuyers and community partners with nonprofits to make a positive impact in the lives of everyone it touches and in all the communities it builds through its purpose, Building Dreams, Enhancing Lives. This is accomplished by company team members volunteering countless hours to different organizations in their communities and by The David Weekley Family Foundation donating more than $100 million to a variety of organizations through the U.S. and abroad over the past 20 years.
