David Weekley Homes Hosts Blood Drive for Orlando Community
Orlando, FL (July 6, 2017): Many Orlando-area residents will receive the gift of life, thanks to a blood drive hosted by David Weekley Homes, the nation’s largest privately-held builder. The drive will benefit OneBlood.
The event is from 3 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 13 at The Reef model home in Laureate Park at Lake Nona, located at 13798 Walcott Avenue in Orlando. Homeowners, buyers, friends and Orlando-area residents are encouraged to donate. OneBlood’s Big Red Bus® will be onsite to accommodate donors, who will receive a gift for donating.
Each blood donation can save up to three adult lives, while a three-teaspoon donation can save a baby’s life. Blood donations to OneBlood support patients throughout Florida, as well as parts of Georgia, Alabama and South Carolina.
The drive is an initiative of the company’s CARE program, which is a charitable and volunteer program that joins team members with homeowners, homebuyers, community partners and local nonprofit organizations to live out its purpose, Building Dreams, Enhancing Lives in all the communities in which it builds. This is accomplished by company team members volunteering countless hours to different organizations in their communities and by The David Weekley Family Foundation donating more than $100 million to a variety of organizations throughout the U.S. and abroad over the past 20 years.
