David Weekley Homes Hosts Fourth Annual Drive Collecting Items to Benefit USO Troops
Orlando, FL (January 31, 2018): For the fourth consecutive year, David Weekley Homes, the nation’s largest private home builder, is collecting a variety of items at its Orlando Division Office and model homes from February 1 to February 15 to benefit United Service Organizations (USO) Central Florida troops.
As part of the company’s philanthropic efforts through its CARE program, the Orlando Division is collecting such items as pre-packaged snacks, paper plates and bowls, coloring books, restaurant gift cards and more to stock the new USO Welcome Center at the Orlando International Airport, which receives an average of 63 military members and their families every day. A full list of items can be found here.
Last year’s drive generated enough materials to create nearly 650 care packages for USO Central Florida. Donations for this year’s drive can be dropped off at the builder’s division office at 225 South Westmonte Drive, Suite 2000, Altamonte Springs, FL 32714, or at any of the Orlando-area model homes. Visit www.davidweekleyhomes.com to find the nearest model home.
The drive is an initiative of the company’s CARE program, which is a charitable and volunteer program that joins together David Weekley team members, homebuyers, homeowners and community partners, to live out the builders’ purpose of Building Dreams, Enhancing Lives. Through the volunteer and philanthropic efforts of the CARE program, the David Weekley team is committed, active and responsible for enhancing lives in communities in which they work and live. For more than 20 years, The David Weekley Family Foundation has given more than $100 million to deserving nonprofits nationwide and abroad.
