David Weekley Homes Makes Donation to The Isabella Santos Foundation
Charlotte, NC (October 31, 2017): David Weekley Homes, the nation’s largest privately-held home builder, recently participated in the grand opening festivities in the south Charlotte pedestrian-friendly of Waverly. As part of the event, the home builder donated nearly $500 to The Isabella Santos Foundation in honor of Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month.
As part of the company’s charitable and philanthropic efforts, a $5 donation was given to the foundation for each visitor who registered with a sales consultant in Waverly between September 1 and October 10, 2017. Plus, an additional $10 donation was given for return visitors who stopped by during the grand opening event.
“We are so honored to be selected as the beneficiary for the grand opening of Waverly this year,” said Erin Santos, president of The Isabella Santos Foundation. “We were blown away with the level of support from the community, tenants and builders in helping raise over $10,000 for the foundation. The funds we received will be used here locally to help build a new treatment room at Levine Children’s Hospital in 2018 that will service the children of Charlotte for years to come.”
The monetary gifts are an initiative of the company’s CARE program that joins team members with homeowners, homebuyers, community partners and local nonprofit organizations to live out its purpose, Building Dreams, Enhancing Lives in all the communities in which it builds. This is accomplished by team members volunteering countless hours to different organizations in their communities and by The David Weekley Family Foundation donating more than $100 million to a variety of organizations throughout the U.S. and abroad over the past 20 years.
