David Weekley Homes Partners with Hugs for Soldiers to Send Care Packages to U.S. Soldiers
Atlanta, GA (April 20, 2016) The David Weekley Homes Atlanta Team partnered with Hugs for Soldiers to send care packages to members of the U.S. Armed Forces.
Through the philanthropic efforts of the company's CARE program, team members hosted the “Lucky for Our Troops” drive throughout the month of March by collecting items such as snacks, toiletries, stationery and per-paid phone cards at the company’s division office and at model homes across the city.
Team Members spent an afternoon assembling 69 care packages. Hugs For Soldiers, a ministry of Duluth First United Methodist Church that provides encouragement and the comforts of home to troops deployed overseas, matched the donations and paid to ship the packages. In addition, 69 handwritten letters of support and encouragement from David Weekley team members were also sent with the packages.
Through the company’s CARE program, Team Members, homeowners, homebuyers, community partners and vendors work with various organizations to make a significant impact in communities. Over the past 20 years, The David Weekley Family Foundation has donated more than $100 million to worthy causes.
