David Weekley Homes Team Members Build Beds for Love INC
Charlotte, NC (June 11, 2019): David Weekley Homes recently partnered with 19 local nonprofit organizations across the country through the company’s CARE Build Month projects.
In Charlotte, the project benefitted Love INC, a nonprofit organization providing a range of services for the underprivileged, elderly and disabled in the region. Approximately 55 Weekley team members volunteered 220 hours to build accessibility ramps as well as provide home repairs for families with medical needs who lack the financial resources.
This project benefitted 18 people by providing nine ramps for Love INC clients, as well as other maintenance projects such as landscaping and replacing a mailbox. The project included donations of more than $11,000 in materials and tools.
“It is such a gift to work for a company who support these types of things and allows us take the time away from our jobs to help make a difference in other lives right here in our community,” said Sandra Wade, division coordinator for David Weekley Homes in Charlotte.
The project was an initiative of the company’s CARE program, which is a charitable and volunteer program that partners team members, homeowners, homebuyers and community partners with nonprofits to make a positive impact in the lives of everyone it touches and in all the communities it builds through its purpose, Building Dreams, Enhancing Lives. This is accomplished by company team members volunteering countless hours to different organizations in their communities and by The David Weekley Family Foundation donating more than $200 million to a variety of organizations through the U.S. and abroad over the past 20 years.
