David Weekley Homes Teams up with Denver Home Builders Foundation of Metro Denver for Ramp Blitz
Denver, CO (September 28, 2016): David Weekley Homes recently partnered with the Home Builders Foundation of Metro Denver, an organization that changes lives by providing home modifications to help individuals remain in their home, regain independence and dignity. Approximately eight David Weekley team members joined together to complete this project that involved more than 100 volunteer hours.
For the last six years, the Home Builders Foundation of Metro Denver has partnered with builders, contractors, remodelers, trades and volunteers for the Blitz Build. This year, more than 200 volunteers on 25 crews completed 18 ramps for individuals across the metro Denver area during this three-day event.
“The first year, we completed seven ramps with a handful of volunteers, and it has been amazing to watch this event grow to serve so many recipients by utilizing over 200 volunteers,” said Beth Forbes, Executive Director of the Home Builders Foundation of Metro Denver. “The team from David Weekley Homes was great to work with and we look forward to working together again.”
In addition, the Denver Division of David Weekley Homes donated $250 to assist with costs associated with the Blitz Build.
“I could not be happier with what we did today…it was truly a group effort,” said Jason Stapleton, a builder with David Weekley Homes. “It was a pleasure to be part of this project and it was a very humbling experience.”
The project was an initiative of the company’s CARE program, which is a charitable and volunteer program that partners team members with homeowners, homebuyers and community partners with nonprofits to make a positive impact in the lives of everyone it touches and in all the communities it builds through its purpose, Building Dreams, Enhancing Lives. This is accomplished by company team members volunteering countless hours to different organizations in their communities and by The David Weekley Family Foundation donating more than $100 million to a variety of organizations through the U.S. and abroad over the past 20 years.
