DAVID WEEKLEY JOINS HOMEAID TO HELP TRANSITIONING YOUTH IN COLORADO
Denver, CO (April 21, 2015): Discovery Home residents now have a place to read, play games and enjoy quiet time, thanks to the efforts of David Weekley Homes and HomeAid Colorado. The nation’s largest private home builder teamed up with the organization to finish the basement at Discovery Home, which provides housing for older youth transitioning to independent living.
HomeAid Colorado partnered with Denver Children’s Home in 2000 to build Discovery Home, a 3,200-square foot home for eight young men, ages 15-19, who need a safe and structured environment to gain independent living skills, counseling and basic life skills. Since then, HomeAid Colorado has completed 47 shelter units, providing 299 beds for families, youth and veterans.
Building community character is at the heart of David Weekley’s purpose of Building Dreams, Enhancing Lives. As a company, the home builder strives to make a positive impact in the lives of everyone in its communities across the country.
