Local Animal Charities Benefit from David Weekley Homes Dog Wash Events
Charlotte, NC (September 27, 2017): David Weekley Homes, the nation’s largest private home builder, hosted two dog wash and adoption events in Charlotte-area communities on Saturday, September 23. The events raised nearly $400 in donations to Halfway There Rescue and Catering to Cats and Dogs.
Homeowners, team members and visitors brought their dogs to the model homes in Massey and Parkside at Skybrook North for baths, treats and to meet adoptable rescue pets. In addition to the donated funds, five applications were completed for pet adoptions.
“The dog wash events exceeded all of our expectations,” said Kaily Ransom, purchasing analyst with David Weekley Homes. “Everyone enjoyed getting out and having fun for a wonderful cause.”
The events were an initiative of the company’s CARE program, which is a charitable and volunteer program that partners team members, homeowners, homebuyers and community partners with nonprofits to make a positive impact in the lives of everyone it touches and in all the communities it builds through its purpose, Building Dreams, Enhancing Lives. This is accomplished by company team members volunteering countless hours to different organizations in their communities and by The David Weekley Family Foundation donating more than $100 million to a variety of organizations through the U.S. and abroad over the past 20 years.
