David Weekley Homes Announces New Leaders
Houston, TX (February 24, 2023): David Weekley Homes, one of the largest privately held national home builders, is pleased to announce the promotion of Chad Durham to vice president of Build-to-Rent, along with the expansion of responsibilities for current area market leaders Ken McDonald and Ryan Wells.
Chad Durham joined David Weekley Homes in 2004 and served in the Austin division as a senior builder, purchasing consultant, community manager, project manager and most recently, division president. As vice president of Build-to-Rent, Durham will lead the growth of the business into additional markets, as well as continue to manage the land team for the Austin division.
“As part of our goal to be an evergreen company, I am excited to help our company diversify and grow this business venture,” stated Durham. “This will be a meaningful and predictable part of our company’s annual revenue and profits.”
Area president Ken McDonald, who brings more than 30 years’ experience in the homebuilding industry, including leading the Dallas/Ft. Worth market since 2013, is now also overseeing the operations in the Austin area.

Ryan Wells, area president over Raleigh and Nashville, now also oversees the Indianapolis division. “I’m looking forward to joining our high-performing team in Indianapolis,” said Wells. “I’m excited to be a part of David Weekley Homes’ continued growth in the market.”
