TEAM MEMBERS SPREAD LOVE WITH VALENTINE’S DAY BLOOD DRIVE

Austin, TX (February 17, 2015): Hundreds of Austin-area residents will receive the sweet gift of life, thanks to generous donations from the community and David Weekley Homes team members. The group hosted a Valentine’s Day Blood Drive, benefitting The Blood and Tissue Center of Central Texas.

Twenty donors participated in the event at the New Home Center, giving one pint of blood each. A one-pint donation can save up to three adult lives, while a three-teaspoon donation can save a baby’s life. In just three hours, enough blood was donated to save 60 adult lives and 640 babies’ lives!

The Blood and Tissue Center is the exclusive provider and guardian of the community blood supply for more than 37 medical facilities in a ten-county service area of Central Texas. The Center collects more than 55,000 blood donations annually.
