WEEKLEY TOPS PROFESSIONAL BUILDER'S 2014 HOUSING GIANTS LIST Additionally, Home Builder’s Industry Awards Total Surpasses 1,000
HOUSTON, TX (MAY 28, 2014): David Weekley Homes announced it ranked 16 on Professional Builder magazines’ 2014 Housing Giants List, published online earlier this month. The report ranks the nation’s 293 largest home builders by housing revenue and closings in 2013.
The company also reached more than 1,000 total industry awards. Some of its latest accolades include three first place wins for its model homes in the Orlando Parade of Homes, and two McSam Awards given by the Dallas Builders Association for Best Interior Merchandising for a Model Home and Best Custom Home. Weekley also received the Best in Region award from the 2013 National Association of Home Builders Best in America Living Awards in Hilton Head, SC.
David Weekley Homes was recently listed as the largest privately-held home builder in America and 18th overall, according to BUILDER magazine’s BUILDER 100 List. The BUILDER 100 list is comprised of both private and public builders and identifies the top home builders in America by annual closings, gross revenue, and rate of change year over year, as well as information about where and what they build.
Professional Builder has been compiling its list of Housing Giants for over 40 years. Firms that wish to apply for the list must complete a questionnaire. In addition, Professional Builder retains the services of researchers who contact large building firms who have not volunteered information in order to cast the widest net for the biggest home building firms. The rankings are based on new home revenue only. Firms with less than 30 starts cannot be included in the ranking.
