David Weekley Homes Gives the Gift of Life to Benefit San Antonio Community  

San Antonio, TX (April 12, 2022): David Weekley Homes team members in the San Antonio area showed how much they care with 23 participants signing up to donate blood during a recent blood drive benefitting the South Texas Blood and Tissue Center.

The Luau for Lives blood drive event was held on Monday, April 11, at the New Home Center, located at 3424 Paesanos Parkway in San Antonio. Homeowners, friends, family members and San Antonio residents all participated in the drive.

The South Texas Blood and Tissue Center successfully received 23 donations, which can potentially save the lives of 69 patients in need.

One donation can save up to three adult lives, while a three-teaspoon donation can save a baby’s life. Blood donations to the South Texas Blood and Tissue Center supply 67 hospitals in 43 South Texas counties.

The drive was an initiative of the company’s CARE program, which is a charitable and volunteer program that joins team members with homeowners, homebuyers, community partners and local nonprofit organizations to live out its purpose, Building Dreams, Enhancing Lives in all the communities in which it builds. This is accomplished by company team members volunteering countless hours to different organizations in their communities.
