7 Easy Steps to Build on Your Lot

David Weekley Homes makes it easy for you to Build on Your Lot.

1. YOUR HOMESITE
In town or out, we’ll build almost anywhere you like! And if you aren’t sure where to get started, we can help you find or evaluate a homesite for your new home. Once you’ve purchased the right homesite, all we need to get started is the survey!

2. SELECT YOUR PLAN
It’s fun to browse through our architect-designed floor plans to select the one you would most like to live in! Your Sales Consultant will assist you in selecting the ideal floor plan from our collection of designs, and you can customize it with our FlexSpace℠ options to make your dream home a reality.

3. ARRANGE FINANCING AND FINALIZE CONSTRUCTION AGREEMENT
Your Sales Consultant will put you in touch with our preferred lender for your financing needs. They will ensure you get the best mortgage to fit your requirements. Once you’ve arranged for financing, lock in your home price by finalizing your Construction Agreement.

4. DETERMINE SITE COSTS
Each homesite is different and each plan will fit differently on your homesite. We review each site carefully and will provide you with all the necessary site costs involved in the construction of your new home.

5. CUSTOMIZE YOUR HOME
Make your home your own by choosing from the wide variety of pre-priced Custom Choices™ available in our Design Center. Need help with your selections? Our Design Consultants can help bring out your inner interior designer!

6. BEGIN CONSTRUCTION
Experience Building The Weekley Way with three scheduled meetings with your Personal Builder℠. These three meetings are scheduled during construction to keep you up-to-date on your home’s progress and ensure your happiness. 7. MOVE-IN AND WARRANTY
Your personal home building journey doesn’t stop with the construction. As part of our Customer Care program, David Weekley Homes provides a warranty orientation to inform you of the superior 1-year warranty and the additional 10-year limited warranty available.

Floor Plan Options and FlexSpace

With the David Weekley Homes Build on Your Lot program, there’s a wide variety of floor plans for you to choose from so you can find one that suits your family’s lifestyle. You’ll have the option to select architectural options to customize your home to better suit your lifestyle needs, which we refer to as FlexSpace℠ options. Examples of FlexSpace options may include adding French doors to a study, a fireplace in the family room and more. Depending on the size of your lot or land, we also have floor plans that are ready to be built and do not have FlexSpace options.

Choosing Design Options

With your new home, you’ll also have a variety of Custom Choices™ to choose from to make your home truly your own. You’ll visit our expansive Design Center to browse the various options, from flooring and faucets to countertops and cabinets and more. Guided by the expertise of a professional Design Consultant, you’ll choose design options that reflect your style and personality to create the home of your dreams.

Land Consulting

We’ll assist you in an evaluation of the ideal location for your new home. Our land consulting services include site cost, suitable floor plan recommendations, and utility or septic and well requirements.

Soil Testing

At David Weekley Homes, we know it’s critical to give your homesite a valid soil test and inspection prior to building your new dream home.

Land Survey

A survey of your land is essential before the building process can begin. Through our Build on Your Lot program in Austin, we will conduct a professional survey of your land to determine property limits, as well as plot the location of the home, garage and other features.

Tree Survey

We provide a tree survey to gain useful information about the existing trees on your property, such as the species, physical measurement, ages, overall health and life expectancy. Information like this helps our Build on Your Lot experts make informed decisions about which trees we can keep and which ones are potential problems.

Existing Structure Demolition

If your homesite has an existing structure on it that needs removal, we can take care of that for you! From securing the necessary permits to debris removal, the David Weekley Homes Build on Your Lot program offers demolition services of an existing structure.

HVAC Design

Every home is different, and so is its HVAC (heating, ventilating and air conditioning) system. Depending on your situation, region and needs, you can choose from heating systems running on either gas or oil as fuel, or a hybrid-packaged system that can use both fuel types.

Fixed Pricing at Construction Start

We want to make your home building experience free of surprises – especially when it comes to pricing. Fixed pricing from the start of construction means there isn't any question about how much you will pay. We’ll explain the total cost before you sign your final agreement, eliminating unexpected bumps in the road.

Inspections

Our Team of professionals conduct inspections at different stages by the jurisdiction in which the home is built. Your home must pass each inspection before construction can continue. In addition, David Weekley Homes has professional, third-party inspections performed on foundation, framing, mechanical systems, all plumbing systems and all energy components. Our EnergySaver™ homes in Austin undergo additional inspections, specifically designed and monitored by Environments For Living® for energy-efficiency certification.

Plat of New Home on Property

We provide all new David Weekley Homeowners with a home location survey plat. In addition to understanding home placement, this survey is required for many zoning approvals and shows all property lines and existing structures on your land drawn to scale.

Customized Homes

With a customized home, you’ll select a floor plan that has FlexSpace? options. These are exterior, interior or structural architectural options that can be modified on the floor plan to allow you to personalize your home to fit the way you live. Examples of FlexSpace options may include adding a covered porch, replacing a tub and shower in an Owner’s Bath with a Super Shower, extending the Owner’s Retreat and more. When you’re choosing a floor plan, our Team will advise what FlexSpace options are available to you.

Pre-designed Homes

Build on your lot - Dream Home

Choosing David Weekley to build our dream home was the proper choice. We had previously owned two other David Weekley homes in the past. Due to our past experience, we were confident that this was the route to take. We like the quality of materials that they use, the six by two-inch outer framing was also very important to us. We were satisfied with the design process, the weekly follow up calls to keep us informed during the construction and the security and confidence in knowing that they would stand behind their product for any warranty issues that could arise. You know when the warranty manager meets with your personally after the construction is completed that they stand behind their product.
